The Woman's Club of Upper Montclair had a table at the Upper Montclair Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, Sept 21.  We sold our tote bags and ornaments as well as chocolate bars in support of CASA.  The weather behaved itself, and we were lucky to have a fine fall day!

NOVEMBER 20, 2019 - Montclair and the Suffrage Movement

In honor of the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote, the Public Issues Department of the WCUM has asked our town historian, Mike Farrelly, to make a presentation on the history of Women's suffrage in general, and its impact on Montclair in particular.  Special attention will be paid to Lucy Stone, who was the founder of the American Woman's Suffrage Association.  She lived in Montclair for some years with her husband, Henry Blackwell.  Stone, along with Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, was credited with organizing the women's right to vote movement.  This program is free for club members, and open to the public for $5 at the door.
